(Editors note: So this is not really design or advertising related, but we thought it was so awesome that we wanted to showcase it anyway.)
Some of you may have heard about the Audi R8 – worth R1.4m that is being driven around Cape Town by two car guards that were given the car by a business man. Yes this is a true story. I’ve seen it. Its parked outside my office. Talk about a fairy tail come true.
Basically the guys are trying to create some ‘gees’ and spread the love. We thought we would give them a hand by helping them spread the message. Check out the short clip some guys filmed yesterday and send it far and wide. Twitter it, stick it on your facebook wall etc and spread the glory!

am i just really jaded .. or does this seem like a viral campaign in the making .. waiting to see
Jaded pal.
This oke has literally given away all his possessions to those less fortunate. Great story.
yet another social wank off attempt. wow you guys are too clever …. tooo clever i tell you
I love this story.
Gees dude, what is wanky about this story?
It’s just someone doing good.
Show a bit of love.
I’m with Marky and Dylan on that one.
Why did they have to cut a hole in the car and then duc-tape the hole? Yes I get its for donations but why not put a box next to the car.
Nice story though. Cool they all get share the car. Little happiness in a persons day is always cool and driving an R8 is sh-weet.
that “car guard” happens to belong to a casting agency. he must have a really good spot. hahahah
if its legit ill be the first to say how flipping cool it is!
but why are the car guards getting out of the lift at a big ad agency?
nice viral though, got my attention
mmmm … is there a coincidence this was shot near the Network BBDO building?
The car guards are hanging outside the BBDO building which is where we first saw them. Apparently they live in a shelter down the road. One of the guys at work approached them and fell in love with the story and decided to lend a hand. So if your asking if BBDO is involved? Of course we are. We made the video for ‘gees’ sake and we’re trying to spread the love by doing our part to help them. Instead of accusing us of faking it why don’t you get behind the guys and help them any way you can.
guess im just jaded .. eish ..
thats rad for them !.. awesome. nice to know there isnt a catch after all.
i think kate’s getting butchered on monday
Who get the money that goes in the hole they cut in bonnet?
it’s not for money, it’s for letters. correct me if i’m wrong though.
