“YEAH sweet bru! But the frogs must be fish! Otherwise people will think we just like, totally copied the film!”
Can’t imagine what P.T. Anderson would think of this.
Andrew added these pithy words on Mar 10 10 at 6:01 pmDouchebag, he read about it in a science journal, he didn’t invent the idea.
coda added these pithy words on Mar 10 10 at 6:51 pm@Andrew: I never said he invented the idea. I was commenting on the style and execution. There are many ways to interpret a theme; this one feels like a copy. Magnolia was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this ad on TV.
Uno added these pithy words on Mar 10 10 at 7:03 pmI disagree with you there Coda – it might have the same reference but I think it is stylistically different. Doesn’t feel like a copy to me at all.
Plus the “hook” of the ad has nothing to do with Magnolia, unless you count catching fish through an ambulance window being the same as catching them in an umbrella.

dylan added these pithy words on Mar 11 10 at 11:53 ami think we need to be careful we dont make this site into a ongoing witch hunt. Ive heard of this happening and ive never seen magnolia.
coda added these pithy words on Mar 11 10 at 12:05 pmPoint taken. I was a bit harsh. I’m not saying it is a copy, I just think of it as one when I see it.
K added these pithy words on Mar 11 10 at 1:06 pmI don’t really care for this ad. But it’s nicely executed. I also think that it’s being flighted TO DEATH. But maybe I watch too much tv.
