This is an absolutely AMAZING billboard that’s up in Johannesburg CBD. It uses LED screens to create a video image on the Life Center building. Click through to see how it’s done.
The image takes feeds in from Facebook, Twitter and Mxit – users get the opportunity to create the message that will be displayed on the building.
Is this the first case of our Johannesburg skyline becoming the same as Tokyo?

I’m sorry but this really ISN’T amazing at all. It’s just optic pollution. This kind of tech has been around for a while now and is in a similar vein to the kind of things that they’ve projected onto big shopping stores on 5th Avenue in New York, and elsewhere. Simply using social media to feed your “idea” onto a big canvass for all to see is nothing special. Even if the medium is the message.
