Ad agency JWT has hit the streets of Cape Town for this campaign for costume hire store Mardigras. Various urban structures in central Cape Town, public telephones, traffic lights, fire hydrants and post boxes, have been dressed in hand-stitched costumes proving that Mardigras can provide a costume for any possible theme. They’ve been getting quite a reaction from passersby.

Alison is this yours?
Im not sure i get it .. I think the craft is really great.. and i get the costume angle. but a post box dressing as a postbox doesnt scream fancy dress to me. or am i missing something. Would i go to Mardi Gras to dress as myself..
Open to correction here.. great craft..
Have to agree with Dylan here. It looks cool and I have yet to see the whole knitting graffiti in SA but don’t think it quite works. If the knitted surfaces were outrageous and made the objects really stand out then that would tick all the boxes. That said, I would certainly take notice if I saw this on this street.
