Audi South Africa recently negotiated a contract with the Gauteng Police Flying Squad to supply them with 100 Audi S3 Sportbacks to help with the fight against crime.
Fokofpolisiekar is the name of a local popular band and translates to English as “Fuckoffpolicecar”. Am pretty sure these S3’s can go f**k fast.
The copy at the bottom of the ad reads “Introducing the 100 strong Audi S3 Sportback flying squad. From 0 – Crime Stop in 5.5 seconds”

This ad makes Audi Type look like a stretched Verdana Bold.
I want to like. I really do. It’s damn sharp and I have the car. And I generally love Audi’s advertising. But, I just don’t think it’s very Audi. When you listen to that kind of music, the last car brand you think of is Audi. Sorry. Clever but wrong.
Agreed – the band, their music and everything they pretend to stand for really shatters this one into pieces. Although, ironically, this puts the theme on par with the quality of law enforcement that we have all come to hate.
I agree with coda- the font looks terrible
I dont understand how the Client approved this. Do they know who “Fokofpolisiekar” is, and if they do is this the new direction for Audi?
Both Polisiekar and Audi are good at what they do. but not together.
Oh and BTW @10and5: Your missing an “E” in “Polisie” unless this is a deliberate spelling ‘error’.
and the words police where sticked backwards on the car
they probably did this to all the 100 cars cause they would’ve used the one which was made properly…
It’s not just about what Audi is, but what they want to be perceived as.
Police is backwards so you can read it in a rearview mirror.
oh now i feel stupid.. i never knew that
I wonder if the band got anything out of this…
King Julian, you’re missing an ‘E’ yourself. Not to mention the apostrophe.
Audi always clever in marketing their brand. well done Audi, pity a great car like S3 will be driven by wrong crowd.
Looks like he got arrested by Sergeant Understeer!
This is really crap! Simple as that!
1. How can they fist the (and their own) brand like that?
2. Why do they put a bunch of idiots in control of cars they have no idea how to drive with a license to drive like idiots!
Client and the flying squad will make the brand look shite!
