Street artist JR and his team have been traveling the world for his project Inside Out – a large-scale participatory art project that transforms messages of personal identity into pieces of artistic work. The lastest stop was Cape Town. The project entails large black and white portraits of locals being pasted onto the city’s surfaces, thereby sharing the untold stories and images of the people who live there. The Inside Out project spans the globe and deals with area-specific issues, in Cape Town the project deals with racism between the Black & Coloured youth from Hout Bay. Shani Judes of SJ artists managed the project and kept a daily record of the experience. You can read all about it HERE. Photos by Jonx Pillemer.
