Biko Molobye is a project assistant at Market Photo Workshop in Joburg. These are some of his photographs that make up the series – Can’t Escape the City. The work is focused on the the city scape of Johannesburg. About the series: It all started when I moved to Johannesburg and my flat was located on the top floor of the building. I would occasionally go up to the roof and never ceased to be amazed by the aesthetic of the layout and construction of the city. It also seemed to be a phenomenon that it is not only the constructed light that lights up this amazing city, nature also has a special way to light up Jozi. You can’t escape the city, you leave and the lights follows you everywhere.
