It’s time for Rock Me Again, again! The initiative, started by Capsule Projects, that challenges a select group of SA fashion designers to rework garments donated by the public, which will be photographed and exhibited, is back for another round.
How it all works: Rock Me Again garment recycling bins (specially designed from repurposed cardboard boxes by Thingking, check out the video below) have been stationed at vida e caffé stores – Kloof Street, Green Point and Wembley Square – since 19 October. The public was asked to donate unwanted clothes by placing them in the bins and for every garment donated, WeWOOD watches pledged to plant a tree. Some of the garments will be re-worked while the rest of the clothes will be donated to Give Responsibly, the social development campaign run by the Central City Improvement District. This will ensure that every donation counts.
Save the Date 25 November if you’re in Joburg and 30 November if you’re in Cape Town to see the results.
