SAMRO stands for Southern African Music Rights Organisation and was established in 1961 to protect the intellectual property of composers and authors, as well as ensure that composers’ and authors’ talents are adequately credited both locally and internationally for music usage.
This illustrated print campaign by Mortimer Harvey reads, “Talent is not enough. Over the last 50 years, SAMRO has proudly protected the musical works of performers, composers, lyricists, authors and publishers. After all, music is a business.”
