  1. Flexx says:

    SO GOOD!

  2. Adriaan says:

I’m sorry, but is is really shit. The model looks sickly.

  3. Marieke says:

These are amazing. Kirstin is a friend of mine, and I know for a fact she is far from sickly and eats whatever she wants, including McDonalds.

  4. Poes says:

I think Adriaan meant that she looks like she is about to die. Her face has one emotion- deathly. This shoot is abysmal, I felt gang-raped after looking at it.

  5. james says:

I like, something fresh for swimwear, well done!

  6. Emily says:

    Agree with Adriaan.
What’s the point of the MacD’s? Or is there supposed to be no point to it at all? The model looks like she could do with a McD’s meal.
What’s wrong with a smile here and there? Don’t take yourselves so seriously.
A fellow CT blogger also brought back a whole bunch of swimwear from her recent trip to Thailand. One of them was very similar to that American flag one. Just saying.

  7. Adriaan says:

Marieke, meant no disrespect to the model on a personal level, I am sure it is just the styling, and she was supposed to look like this on the day. What I meant was that this is a really shocking attempt at a fashion shoot. It is just scary that sub standard work like this ends up getting the most attention. This is really not inspirational for aspiring photographers and models.

  8. Flexx says:

Should they have put her in a dripping wet See You Next Wednesday shirt instead?

This shoot is art. I guess everyone’s allowed an opinion, but instead of hating, why don’t you try harder to improve your own art?

  9. Flexx says:

Also- the US flag thing is a huge trend right now,and VAMP did it ages ago. That’s why theyre called trends-they catch on.

  10. steff says:

    I’m inspired.

Much more imaginative than the common copycat stuff that generally comes out of the young cape town creative network, at least these peeps are trying to do something fresh,
and for me it works in most of the shots.

nicely done. congrats to all involved

  11. luke v says:

    nice vibe. :)

  12. Kate says:

Vamp started out really promising but its been turned into just another poor quality crap from Asia store.

  13. patrick says:

Joseph Delany / Sticky&loose… Jealous much?

    shame.

  14. Uno says:

guys – we’ve removed 2 comments in this thread that were personal attacks.
10and5 is not the forum for personal beef, any comments not related to the work will be removed.
Haters gonna hate, but there are enough other places to do that.

  15. renato says:

Kate, Adriaan and Emily where is your work so we can all check out your professional genius?

  16. Kirsty says:

I am so impressed by these young people who are defining their own futures! Will definitely be buying some of these bikinis now :)

  17. Lisa says:

Beautiful work, intriguing model, and fresh ideas. Great!

  18. Dean says:

@Renato, I agree with them and to be honest, as a consumer of what they’re selling they don’t need to be a professional genius to like it. The goal of advertising is to get people to like it, not be a creative genius first. I also wonder if McDonalds gave permission to allow their products used? Just because it’s original doesn’t make it creative.

  19. the negative comments on this are awful faintly if everyone thinks saying them thinks that they are a creative genius and marketing savvy they can go out and prove it! niccis done well for herself to hussle her way up :)

  20. neh says:

I think this was a fun shoot, nicci is a fun person, kirstin isnt the most smiley person (and yes she eats alot of mc donalds and junk food )and to be honest when your modeling, it sucks having to pull some fake ass smile that you don’t want to pull (its not a colgate brand)… hence this shoot suited the model, suited the swimsuits (which are great and very well priced)lets be honest it matches the target audience and has a fun fashion story.

  21. deon says:

It’s photo shoot, guys. Don’t think about it too much.

  22. Leneave says:

I think this is EPIC. Big ups to these young creatives putting themselves out there and trying something new- it’s very rare, especially in Cape Town!

  23. Jona says:

Am I the only one noticing that this lads name is Poes?

    Seriously dude?

I love this world, you get fat people and you get thin people. The way it works. So before you give Kirstin shit, hop off your mothers dick, and chill out, she is a rad girl and constantly shows me all the sushi she eats.

    Get off it already

  24. Emilyisajealousbitch says:

Oh Emily, apparently you are quite a fatty, BIG surprise there! These type of comments only come from people that are unhappy with themselves in some or other way :) I know kirstin better than anyone and I know for a fact that she can eat anything she wants anytime she wants :) ah. Hi 5 to fast metabolisms. Lifes good :) just face it, this shoot and everything that goes with it is cool and you just angry that it’s not you that’s reached any amount of success. And as for the ‘poes’ guy. Seriously? what a waste of space.

  25. I love what you’ve done here. Life is saturated with phat and colour. This swimwear shoot is perfect for winter. I’m gonna ring up Richie on speed dial and see if Heather wants a cozzie. Hoollaaaaar!

She need’s to shave her potatoe. By the way, Ronald says big ups for the props. Get it Props. As in things you use in shoots. Respect. xoxo JBJ

  26. Mads says:

I dig the treatment and the model is doing a fair job in most of the pictures – the construction of some of the pictures could be better. I dig the colours that have been turned into something different – green to red as an example. The cropping of the images could have been stronger in most cases. Anyhow fresh for swimwear and I reckon it should have just been cut down to a smaller number of images (I dig picture, 2, 3, 6, 8 and 9)

This is again personal and I do not shoot a lot of fashion myself but delve more in the real realm.
