This newly launched campaign for Toyota Yaris by Draftfcb asks you to share your ambition for the chance to win a brand new, ABS-braking, USB-featuring, Yaris.
The TV ad, above, was shot using over 25 cameras, all running simultaneously. It’s the first in SA to use this technology, and was made by Tristan Holmes.
While there must be little more exciting than winning a car (as demonstrated by Oprah’s studio audience), the campaign is becoming more than a TV ad and competition. As the entries fly in, the campaign site is turning into a gridded showcase of what creative-thinking South African entrepreneurs are aspiring to achieve and in many cases are already doing.
This is how it all works:
There are three categories to enter through – Community, Business and Personal. Pick one and share your big idea in plus/minus 250 words along with visual aids, pics and/or videos, to up your chances of getting votes.
The public votes – and can win iPods and iPads every week by doing so – and the top 3 entries will be made into videos by an award-winning director. After a second voting round the winner gets a shiny new Yaris.
So far entries are ranging from dreams of becoming a social worker, a documentary maker and a singer to starting a South African youth magazine, promoting roller derby and bringing career guidance to township schools. Inspiring stuff.

I’m off to win myself an iPad.
