To celebrate the new, all-touch BlackBerry® Curveâ„¢ 9380, the first with an all-touch screen, digital innovations company Urbian has launched ‘Touch Awesomeness’, a campaign with a mission to get the internet its awesome back.

The campaign is described as “what you get when you mix the Interwebs, unicorns, 10 all-touch smartphones, LOLcats, an Audi A1, kiefness, point accumulation and double rainbows, charged with a healthy dose of whatev’s and a sprinkle of Riaan Cruywagen
”. Wild!

Urbian co-founder and Executive Digital Producer Gary Willmott says, “Cheekily hinting that the Internet has lost some of its awesomeness, we are inviting people to help ‘Awesomify the Interwebs’ by getting involved in the creation of fresh, funny content.” For mad prizes of course.

This is how it all works:

Under the Umbrella campaign of ‘Touch Awesomeness’, 10 mini campaigns (Tasks of Awesomeness) are being unlocked weekly to encourage participation in the quest to make the Internet cool again. Weekly spot prizes include 10 BlackBerry® Curveâ„¢ 9380’s which are awarded to a randomly chosen participant every week. The grand prize, an Audi A1 1.4 TSFI, goes to the overall winner; the person with the most points.

Points are awarded for engaging with each Task of Awesomeness, for submitting and sharing your creations, getting votes from friends, as well as bonus points for the judges’ special selections of awesomeness.

A quick break down of the weekly tasks:

Week 1 – Rock the Mic

Users had to record a song and then pick a style for their song (Kwaito, Rave, Rock ‘n Roll, Dubster or Hip Hop)

Week 2 – Fingers of Awesomeness
In this week’s task users decorated their fingers, took pictures, and uploaded them to Touch Awesomeness.

Week 3 – The Awesometer

Users had to test their awesomeness by answering 20 questions of ‘what is more awesome’ (E.g. Jack Parow or Kurt Darren)

Week 4 – DIY Demotiovational

Users had to create their own demotivational posters by uploading their pictures and giving them a title and caption.

Week 5 – Pimp my Profile picture

This is for everyone that has a boring profile picture. Once users upload their picture, they are able to pimp it out with various emotions, such as sunglasses, lips, etc.

Week 6 – Awesome IQ

This was a quiz to test users movie knowledge.

Week 7 – Followed by Famousness

For this week users needed to tweet with the hashtag #bbtouchawesomeness and try to get as many of our awesome celebs to follow them.

Week 8 – Talking Photos

Users upload their picture, pick a mouth and type a sentence that they would like their picture to say.

Week 9 – Awesomeness for Dummies

This week we have the one and only Mister Riaan Cruywagen giving us lessons on ‘how to be awesome’. Once you have watched the video, you will be tested.

Week 10 – Status update of awesomeness

Users will update their status and it will be transformed into a movie trailer of awesomeness.

The competition is currently on week 8 so there is still time to enter. To do so head on over to www.touchawesomeness.com
