Lauren du Plessis and Bailey Allison are the designers behind the clothing label Avant Apparel. They launched their Winter 2012 collection on the 14th of June. This is a selection of images from the A/W campaign & catalogue shoots, both by photographer JP Hanekom, the campaign shoot featuring a double exposure effect and the catalogue images using mirroring in post for a creepy, cool result.
JP explains the shoots:
The idea behind the campaign shoot was to show the power and beauty of the collection. The catalogue evolved from an idea to flip the images. Although the same model has been used throughout the images, through digital manipulation each garment received a different version of the model’s face, in a way conveying the garment’s own personality. On the day of the shoot we played around with shadows and eventually settled on the shadows that are reminiscent of wings.
