Many matriculants head into creative studies without really knowing what they’re getting themselves into and what their career options are at the end of their diploma or degree. The Cape Town Creative Academy hosts a monthly event, called the Cape Town Creative Showcase, as a platform for high school learners and their parents to gain insights into creative career opportunities and what working in the industry is like.
The event is open to the public, free of charge, held at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock and features a prominent local professional creative who presents their portfolio of work and offers a first-hand account of their day-to-day.
These events aim to build an accurate perception, understanding and expectation of what the creative industry entails and delivers.
The next Cape Town Creative Showcase happens on the 4th of August and will feature talented illustrator Christiaan Venter.
