The annual INTERPRET DURBAN event took place on the 29th of September this year as part of eThekwini’s CELEBRATE DURBAN campaign. Over 850 people made their way to the Bat Centre from all corners of Durban to celebrate art, photography, music, videography and fashion.
The winners of the INTERPRET DURBAN creative competition were announced and on exhibition. One of the events organizers Jonas Barausse said, “We tried and I think succeeded in creating an event that showcased Durban to Durban. We have an abundance of creative talent in this city. Its young, its fresh and has its own unique perspective and style. You can see it in the winning entries this year…its all proudly and uniquely 031 in flavor and approach”.
The makers of short films, photographs, T-shirt designs and mixed media artworks inspired by the city of Durban were awarded with over R190 000 in prizes from various sponsors.
Congrats to the winners! Here are the top 3 in each category:
First Place Film: Luke Mason
