Creative Week Cape Town 2013 (14 – 22 September) is a metropole-wide celebration of creativity, innovation and culture, in build-up to the annual Loerie awards.
The theme this year is ‘Turn your city inside out’, encouraging participants to head outdoors. The idea is to make events, exhibitions, performances and activities during Creative Week accessible, visible and inclusive, turning public spaces into creative platforms. This week allows participants to interact with other creatives and the public, get noticed, and have some fun.
There are seven categories for Creative Week Events, which makes it easy to choose what to attend:
The Loeries: events that form part of the awards.
Learn: public lectures, demonstrations, presentations and launches.
See: film screenings, street art interventions and pop-up exhibitions.
Hear: music, theatre and performance events.
Do: events that require active participation.
Move: walking tours or cycling routes.
Play: events that defy conventional categories.
All events are independently organized and anyone could get involved, whether it’s by participating or hosting an event.
Check out the website for details on hosting an event, as well as the calendar for the week.
