As today is Guy Fawkes Day and the toughest time of the year for Animal Welfare PE, the organisation took over their local classifieds in The Herald, with the help of ad agency Boomtown and AlgoaFM, to remind people of the traumatic effects of fireworks on animals. Every year the Animal Welfare Society is flooded with frightened strays who have run away because of fireworks. Wanting to change things this year, this simple and hopefully effective tactical campaign raises awareness by including classified ads for each of the pets that are waiting to be adopted at Animal Welfare, printed directly after ads placed for value packs of fireworks. Also included are details of where to find local designated areas where fireworks can be set off without harming animals.
