There Is No End is a short film made in and around Cape Town over a two year period before it was premiered at SHNIT short film festival at the end of last year. Writer/Director Paul Speirs describes the film as a visual essay set to the words of poet Franz Wright’s Arkansas Good Friday through the eyes of a woman unravelling the generational patterns of conditioning that create the unmanaged expectations we take into life and love.
Paul has been a feature film editor for many years, having studied film in Cape Town at UCT and in Los Angeles at UCLA. He works as a creative director at post production studio New Creation Collective, where he manages a team of editors and animators handling all things post-related. He brings over a decade of industry experience to writing and directing both commercials and short films.
The film was the official selection for SHNIT’s local component Kaapse Bobotie for 2013.
