Lucky Bread Company is the very cool offspring of The Bread Gypsy and Tribeca Coffee, located in a surprising spot in Pretoria. In 2012 Pauli Coetsee, aka The Bread Gypsy, was looking at expanding and opening a shop front, while the owners of Tribeca, Martin Fitzgerald and Dale Mazon, were offered an awkward, unrentable space underneath an escalator inside Brooklyn Mall. They teamed up and collaborated with creative restaurant expert Alicea Malan and Lucky Bread Company was born. This series of fortunate coincidences inspired the name of the new spot.
Lucky Bread Co. has since become an oasis for shoppers, even converting mall-sceptics into regular visitors. They offer freshly baked treats, delicious coffee and free Wifi. It’s a great spot for meetings too, because it’s central and convenient without being boring. The talented Jacques Coetzer designed the branding and identity while the look and feel of the space was done by Earth World Architects.
Visit them inside Pretoria’s Brooklyn Mall on the Mezzanine level on the corner of Veale and Fehrsen Street.
