The concept of street food really needs no introduction. Usually made from some form of carb which you can hold in one hand, this is an ancient tradition that has now become part of our global culture. Locally we have some fantastic treats like samosas, mielies, gatsbys and bunny chows – which is what this year’s Street Food Festival is celebrating. The festival line-up includes a series of food entrepreneurship talks, an African street food dinner, and a market in both Joburg and Cape Town.
When Studio H told us about their plans we couldn’t resist getting involved and teamed up with a few local creatives to make a range of limited edition street food inspired gear. Join us at this year’s Street Food Festival market to shop fruity embroidered artworks by Danielle Clough, humorous patches by Matthew Bradley, beanies with some tasty illustrations by Kim van Vuuren on them, and A Ring To It‘s sugary range of jewellery called ‘Sweets with the Change’.
Come shop from 10am – 3pm on Sunday 26 July at Side Street Studios, 48 Albert Road, Woodstock, Cape Town.
Entrance to the market is free!
