Tribe 112 Cafe is a concept store combining coffee culture and biker lifestyle within the Donford BMW Motorrad in Buitengracht Street. It’s spacious with large street-side windows creating a relaxed ambience that fuses natural light with darker industrial furnishings. Conceptualised by interior designer Michelle Trimborn of Design Quarters, the decor honours motorcycle culture by using lights and table fixtures created from engine parts, while the dealership has an ever-changing exhibit of vintage motorcycles and adventure paraphernalia.

After the success of Tribe Coffee Roasting in Woodstock, Jake Easton, Kate Nero and Bradley Juter wanted to expand their business and embarked on a venture that extended beyond the vision of their existing cafe. Situated in the CBD, Tribe 122 caters to free-spirited trailblazers, business-minded individuals, creatives, coffee aficionados and anyone who appreciates the art of a sophisticated, rich blend. Over the last four years, Tribe has been roasting coffee with flavours like candied red cherries, truffle oil, hazelnuts and chocolate, fast becoming one of most reputable brands in Cape Town’s coffee scene.

Along with their selection of coffee is a travel inspired menu curated by Maureen Miller. Stop by for a healthy breakfast of bircher oats, scrumptious french toast, traditional bacon and eggs, or spicy steak and eggs – if you’re wanting to kick-start the day with a heartier meal. For lunch, try out their thai green chicken curry, cape to rio fishcakes, a hummus bowl or the tribe burger. Alternatively, if it’s a sweet snack you’re after, then there’s always a selection of fresh confectionery to choose from. Tribe 112 is a convenient pit-stop for an early bird 7am coffee while catching up on admin or a longer sit down lunch if you need to get some serious work done.

Pop in at 112 Buitenkant Street from Mondays to Fridays 7am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-1pm. Weekdays breakfast is served from 8am-11am and lunch from 12am-3pm. Confectionery and sandwiches are available throughout the day.
