We’ve had our eye on Leigh Le Roux‘s work for some time now. With a passion for illustration sparked by childhood days spent watching cartoons in front of the TV, the Johannesburg based illustrator and graphic designer has now come to craft his own distinct style of multimedia illustration.

In his work you’ll find soft, whimsical pastel colours giving life to delicate and detailed illustrations and sketches. Sometimes combined with photographic works and at other times platformed by simple backgrounds, the focus of Leigh’s work is always on the subject.

Like all good portraits, Leigh’s illustrations manages to convey distinct stories with each character, the likes of which being inspired by various cartoons, the everyday people of Johannesburg, and the occasional individual he meets via social media.
