New work from The Seppis
Cape Town-based photography duo The Seppis, comprising of Taariq Sepstar and Seemaa Allie, in collaboration with art director Mehnaaz Alex, capture an otherworldly series of photographs portraying landscape and nudes. The images feature dance performers, Action Arte, and signal a sense of struggle. Taariq sites a dark transitional period as his inspiration for the shoot – “The work came form a time of transition, where I was ending a time in one place and beginning a time in a new place. During this period of creative destruction I was experiencing what felt like a backlog of emotions, while going through an accentuated period.”
‘The Light Within’ by JP Hanekom
The Light Within portrait series, captured by photographer JP Hanekom, explores humans and their energetic signatures in relation to our place within space. The vibrant shoot was styled by Sheena Bagshawe with Liezl Leach on hair and make up. The above portraits feature models Armand Dicker at Boss Models SA and Olivia Mortimer at My Friend Ned.
