Industrial designer Sian Eliot and electrical engineer Ari Geva are the duo behind the imaginative lamp-making studio, Mema Designs. They manipulate lightweight aluminium mesh to create grouped and single fan lamps that transform dull spaces into bright and breathtaking interiors.

“We wanted to create a light fitting which is not just beautiful but also highly efficient – anodised aluminium is super light weight and corrosion resistant. Having a transparent quality while bouncing the light so beautifully, has a sort of magic to it,” says the duo.

We visited their studio to find out what goes into making their spectacular large-scale architectural installations and custom-made lighting fittings. See our video below and view the finished fittings on their site.
