Mzukisi Mbane, founder and creative director of local label ImprintZA, spotlights tailored silhouettes, elaborate prints and plenty of color in a bold new lookbook. The clothing narrates a story of his South African heritage, featuring graphic prints inspired by a mix of traditional patterns.
The Khayelitsha-born and Woodstock-based designer of the five-year-old brand, collaborated with stylist Danielle Solomon and photographer Avro Leto Williams to shoot the collection on a rooftop with sky high buildings serving as the backdrop. Finishing the look, hair and make-up artist Rebecca Spendlove kept it natural.
“Every single ImprintZA design inspires me in a different way. Mzukisi is so aesthetically authentic each design is a statement on it’s own,” explains Danielle. She continues, “I have styled this shoot using both mens and womenswear showing the versatility of the clothing and how it inspired me as a stylist. When there are limits creativity can set us free.” Check out the full fashion story below.
