Batik Success, the latest ad for Mutzig Beer was directed by Egg Films’ Zwelethu Radebe and tells a story of Pascal, an up and coming fashion designer, from the perspective of his best friend.
In order to bring this story to life, Zwelethu used a three-act structure to create Batik Success: Setup, conflict and resolution.
“Story is king for me, it was the key ingredient in making a compelling and memorable film that evoked an emotional response from the audience.” The ad’s pace comes both from the camera itself and a slow-building track from Simon Ringrose (Sibot).”
M&C Saatchi Africa’s creative director Ashley Bacon and art director Paddy Pearson conceptualised Batik Success, which is currently screening in Cote d’Ivoire, Congo, the DRC and Rwanda.
Batik Success refers to a Mutzig moment, which is when the best of the best come together in life.
