Untamed Youth – Jaco Haasbroek
It seems local illustrator (and DJ) Jaco Haasbroek has been appointed as official poster designer for the Untamed Youth parties that happen every tuesday at Fiction. Here’s the latest series which feature some pretty recognisable spots around town. Join them tonight to burn some rubber!

The Cute Show
Last night we attended the opening of ‘The Cute Show’ at Salon 91. The Cute Show is a group exhibition of painting, print, sculpture and jeweller. The exhibition features a host of multi-disciplinary artists including Artist/ Jewellery Designer Geraldine Fenn, Illustrator/ Artist Jaco Haasbroek, Sculptor/ Painter/ Animator Francois van Reenen aka Frank, Deco Stylist/ Artist Tracy Lee Lynch, and Artist/ Jewellery Designer Eric Loubser.
If you have some time, I highly recommend dropping in at Salon 91 and checking out the work. Specifically have a look at the Z – A series by Jaco Haasbroek.
The exhibit ends on the 25 March 2010.

No Strange Land Exhibition
Another heads up for all you guys following the No Strange Land expo. It’s happening on Friday at Salon91 in Kloof street, so be sure to make a turn there. A bit about the show:
No Strange Land’ is a group show featuring five emerging creatives working within the fields of music, fine arts, illustration and fashion.
Combining their strengths and efforts they have conceptualised an intimate group show under the banner ‘No Strange Land’.
The emphasisis is on the title of the show and for each artist, to individually interpret their own theme and connotations around the title, ‘No Strange Land’.
Each artist is exploring different avenues surrounding the title. The artists are working within their preffered mediums and wrestling with themes encompassing distance, travel, languages, family and unity.
