YouTube Preview Image

This is an absolutely AMAZING billboard that’s up in Johannesburg CBD. It uses LED screens to create a video image on the Life Center building. Click through to see how it’s done.
The image takes feeds in from Facebook, Twitter and Mxit – users get the opportunity to create the message that will be displayed on the building.
Is this the first case of our Johannesburg skyline becoming the same as Tokyo?

KRONK video for NIKE

YouTube Preview Image

Yeah so we’re a bit late on this one – the agency TRIGGER has already spread the news wide and far for the KRONK/NIKE campaign.

The essence of the campaign is to Bleed Your Colours – we see the country literally bleeding its colours together with a chaotic mascot running through the streets. Ninja style. NIKE teamed up with KRONK for this collaboration, with Kronk doing his typically awesome character style. This video featured above is the final set in the campaign. While it wasn’t done by Kronk (we think…), it does feature all the creative elements that Kronk did for the Nike campaign.

Anyone spot any location references there?

Computer Says No exhibtion call for entries

Call for entries for Computer Says no Exhibition
Computer Says No is an exhibition to be hosted by Infiltrate Media in Joburg, late 2010 – gallery and date to be confirmed.
Artists, designers, illustrators and photographers are invited to show dynamic, inventive and provocative work of all mediums: sculpture, photography, painting, printmaking or illustration which they do in private, for kicks. The only catch is that it’s all gotta be analogue – ie no digital nothing!  That means no prints from digital imagery, no Photoshop manipulation, no handy paint bucket tools.
The invitation is extended to all creatives living and working in South Africa, it’s a free subject exhibition – we pretty much want to see you enjoy the materials during the process of creating manually.
Once selected for the exhibition, the artwork would need to be delivered to our offices in Joburg, and should be properly mounted/prepped for hanging. All artwork will be offered for sale, the pricing/details of which we will confirm with each artist.
Join our Facebook group and post your best work – in progress and finished works – we want to see it all, or submit small jpegs of your work to info@infiltratemedia.co.za with all relevant contact details attached.
Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2010.

Design Indaba Design Fights who Dunnit?

Illustration work for Design Indaba Design Fights

Check out these sick illustrations done for the Design Indaba Designs Fights campaign. It’s still a “coming soon” splash page, but if the current character illustration is anything to go by, it should be a pretty awesome site!

It seems to be a pretty new style as well – not something we’ve seen in South Africa yet so we’d like to know… Who Dunnit?

EDIT:

This Who-Dunnit has been solved – the agency’s responsible are Jupiter Drawing Room and Wicked Pixels. Please note that there is a considerably long discussion around the originality about this work below.
