Loeries Travelling Exhibition to inspire industry at AdExpo
Visitors to the Mega Media AdExpo in Sandton will have the opportunity to assess what it takes to win a coveted Loerie Award. The Loeries Travelling Exhibition, sponsored by Adobe, will be hosted at the AdExpo from 23 March to 25 March 2010. The exhibition displays the winning works from The 31st Annual Loerie Awards in an engaging gallery format that aims to inspire and educate.
Among the visitors to the AdExpo are the advertisers, clients, media owners, planners and buyers that make the brand communication industry tick. By adding the Loeries Travelling Exhibition to their circuit of the displays, they can witness firsthand the levels of creative excellence that their industry aspires to.
Andrew Human, CEO of The Loerie Awards, will be giving a talk at AdExpo, providing further insight into the Loeries judging process and how the awards are championing creativity in the brand communication industry. His talk will take place at 13h00 on 25 March.
With the 31 May deadline for entry to The 2010 Loerie Awards two short months away, this is the perfect opportunity for the industry to brush up on the requirements and criteria.
“We are delighted to be the first expo to host the Travelling Exhibition this year,” says Chris de Klerk, organiser of AdExpo. “In particular, we feel that the talk given by Andrew Human as part of the Expo’s free-to-attend workshop programme will be particularly beneficial to the industry, as we expect many ad agencies and media buyers to visit our three-day expo in Sandton.”
Adobe has come on board as the official partner of the exhibition as a part of the creative software provider’s 20th anniversary celebration of their flagship product, Photoshop.
“As providers of award-winning technology and software that enables creativity, we are very excited with our partnership with The Loerie Awards and their Travelling Exhibition,” says Leonard Rabotapi, marketing manager in Africa at Adobe Systems. “This relationship enables us to help promote and reward creative excellence in the creative industry. As part of the exhibition, Adobe will also present workshops in leading design and educational facilities around the country. We certainly see our partnership growing to offer even more value to the creative community.”
The Travelling Exhibition makes its way around South Africa, stopping at expos and educational institutions, inspiring and educating along the way. Its next stop is Vega in Johannesburg. The full details of its route around the country can be found below.
The Loeries printed Annual also showcases last year’s winning work and includes a set of DVDs with all electronic winners. Here’s a sneak peak of the Loeries title sequences for from 2006 till 2008. It is produced by Juju who will also be producing the titles for this year.
We’ve produced the show titles for the Loerie Awards opening ceremony on 25 September 2009.It’s our fourth consecutive year as an an event partner & supplier to the Loeries and this is a montage of the last three years. In 2006 and 2007 we created the titles and video backdrops for both ceremonies; the 2007 shows were the most ambitious thing we’ve ever done and since 2008 we’ve focused on the Print & Design evening. Which means that now we get to go home once in a while.
