The guys over at World Wide Creative are hosting a digital media workshop in August where brand managers and anyone else can learn a bit more about creating profitable campaigns. It’s something we think is a very valuable skill (as opposed to just having a pretty looking site!) more:
Digital Media – including the ‘new tools’ of marketing: blogs, social networking, bulk emailing, sms and the mobile web – is changing the way businesses are linking to their customers. Consider that:
- Digital marketing is the fastest growing form of marketing in history
- There are over 50 million registered SIM cards in circulation in South Africa, with any individuals having more than 5 phone numbers at any one time.
- There are over 10 million South Africans with internet-enabled cell phones.
The Heavy Chef Project is launching a new digital marketing course tailored for marketers, managers and entrepreneurs: The “Creating Profitable Websites” Course, running from the 12 – 14th of August, in Cape Town. (An early bird special is still available.)
The course is the first to offer a fully practical learning experience, where practitioners in the industry will collaborate with course attendants in the process of conceptualising, strategising, executing and running a digital marketing campaign. At the end of the three days, the course attendants will have initiated an authentic digital campaign, and learned what it means to create a profitable web presence.
The course covers the following:
Day One: Strategy
* Clarifying objectives
* Marketing and branding
* Calls to action
* Competitive analysis
* Digital Strategy
Day Two: Development
* Designing for web
* Digital Content
* Managing the development process
(or ‘keeping grumpy programmers happy’)
Day Three: Ongoing
* The campaign toolkit
* Find the gap
* SEO and Link Building
* Social media
* Mobile marketing
* Analyse this (monitoring for success)
Course dates: 12, 13, 14 August 2009
