  1. wheres the gold???

  2. The judges felt that none of the entries deserved gold.

I have to admit, I felt that Steri Stumpie could win a gold.

  3. Congrats to all the winners! It is such a big honour being on the same page as all the names on here. I feel humbled!

  4. i think digital has exploded with year. The loeries next year are going to be really great! the number of agencies producing inspiring work is great to see, and will hopefully get us all excited to keep pushing and creating awesome work.

    Well done to everyone.

  5. @Johann I’m with you on that one. Re: Steri.

  6. @Johann and @Kaigwa, am so with you on the Steri campaign, how the hell can it not get a gold !? has been phenomenally popular and has shown agencies in SA how PR/tech & above and below the line teams can work together and produce a coherent and exiting trans-media campaign with digital at the core.
I might have to come up with a prize for them myself.

  7. no awards will do

I remember the aftermath of Loeries and everyone saying it was a big waste of time and how bookmarks will be the new benchmark! Im sure the judges considered all the angles here and awarded what they felt was the correct prize. Does anyone here even know the judging criteria? I doubt it.

So i guess the bookmarks are now a big waste of time because Steri didn’t win gold. Steri was a good campaign with great reach, i don’t however think it was the strongest digital entry. It must be because there were 3 South Africa judges on the panel and they just “dont get it”

    grow up.

  8. @no awards

The Bookmarks are awesome, never said it wasn’t 😉 (Disclosure: I was involved on this years Bookmarks Awards)

Steri had a great campaign in my opinion, I think it could have gotten more accolades, unfortunately the judges did not. Awards are never perfect, some win some lose for various reasons. That’s that.

  9. @noawards little bit of a violent reaction don’t you think? its just a comment dear chap, I was not saying the Bookmarks are a waste of time ! suggest you take a beep breath, pause and let it all out Sir

  10. no awards will do

Moaning about not winning is bad form in my book. thats all im saying.
Accept that the people who judge might know what they are talking about and stop relegating them to the idiot corner. Saying awards are never perfect is not constructive at all, why bother having them then.

    over it.

  11. @noawards, My word dear chap, how can I moan about not winning, I never entered anything ! was just a comment.

  12. no awards will do

wasn’t aimed at you my good man.

  13. It is lame moaning about not getting gold. Be happy that you even got an award.

  14. Please note that nobody who worked on the Steri campaign is complaining about anything. It’s just an awards show, there’s no point in getting worked up about it. Well done to all who won Pixels.

  15. wowee there are lots of awards in the industry!

i agree re: steri – as one of the non ad/digital/agency/industry people (ie just a member of the public), i didn’t even know about the other two in the category. i knew about the steri campaign from the start (mostly from twitter) & it actually made me want to go out and buy a steri stumpie. i really don’t know what’s better than that?

    just my two cents.

  16. A great effort by the OPA to get SA to live up to international standards. Just a note, the sound and AV wasn’t good enough – something to get right next year.

  17. Excepting seeing mybrandedlife mentioning it on twitter occasionally, I’ve only seen one steri-stumpie ad in the past few months. And that was a magazine insert last week. Just saying.
