Greatmore Art Studios is proud to present its second Creative Photography Exhibition. The show is the product of a two week mentoring workshop that explored analogue photography using cameras supplied by Exposure Gallery. Exposure Gallery is a photographic concept store that prides itself in being a platform for photographic inspirational products, cutting edge photographic artists, and avant- garde photographic concepts. Retail items sold in the store include Lomographic cameras, a camera known for its inherent playfulness and spontaneity used as a springboard for creativity.
The exhibition features seven young artists hailing from the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and London: Bangikaya Maqoqa, Siyabulela Mdoda, Sergio Majjie, Khynya Mehlo, Igshaan Adama, Sarah Benjamin and Abdul-Wahid Hendricks. The young artists have benefited from the guidance and mentorship from the following Cape Town based artists, Fiona Hoadley, Paul Weinberg and Niklas Zimmer.
The Exhibition opens on the 27th August at 5:30pm and runs until the 3rd September and has been made possible by generous funding from Arts and Culture Trust, Exposure Gallery and Orms Photographic Warehouse. Greatmore Art Studios is located at 47-49 Greatmore Street, Woodstock. The Gallery is open on weekdays from 9am-4pm.
