Jane is graduating from Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design this year. This is her graduate collection entitled &Then. The range is all about nostalgia and the optimism and joy of childhood. All the fabrics, except the shirts and denim jeans, are reclaimed and reused table cloths and curtains. Jane says she wanted to show that recycling can be fun, and that which is old and forgotten can be transformed and made new. The location for the shoot was Mad About Junk in Somerset West. Ria Cronje (firstname.lastname@example.org) kindly let Jane use the space. The gorgeous photographs are by Theunis Stofberg. Other credits are: Stylist – Jane Kotze, Model – Ane Strydom, Assistant – Marilize Uys and Hair by Natasha at Mince hair salon in Stellenbosch.
Jane didn’t study fashion from the get-go but first studied interior design and worked as an interior designer before following her true passion, fashion design. Jane says,” I’m a Stellenbosch local, who’s completely in love with design.” Her work will be on the runway at the Elizabeth Galloway Graduate Fashion Show this Saturday. You can buy tickets here.
