Origami fashion by Marisha Eygelaar

Marisha Eygelaar's - Self expression range

The fashion industry will always find new heights, and it’s with designers like Marisha Eygelaar, and her end year self-expression clothing range, that this saying will continue to be true.

Marisha describes the inspiration behind her 2010 end year range: “The main principle revolved around recreating origami tessellations on fabric and then incorporating them in a garment that was wearable. Fabric was intricately folded and pleated to create the most beautiful 3-dimensional effects”

Her work takes on a strong functional role with the aid of zips, with which, “A dress zipped off and transformed into a jacket and a handbag into a dress”. I don’t know about you, but that certainly sounds like something i’d like to see more of.
