03 Feb Lürzer’s Archive 200 Best: Illustrators worldwide 2011/2012
Lürzer’s Archive have just released a new title continuing their 200 Best series, which already features Lürzer’s Archive 200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide and Lürzer’s Archive 200 Best Packaging worldwide. The selection was made from 1,139 illustrators with 6,075 submissions received from 69 countries. And this was only after they’d been nominated by an ad agency art director or a publisher to be eligible to submit. The illustrations also had to have appeared within the last 18 months keeping the work current. The work then had to be approved by a two-tier jury making sure those who made it through the process truly do deserve the title “200 Best Illustrators.”
And now for the best news, Lürzer’s have made 15 copies available to 10and5 readers. Comment below with the name of a South African illustrator or illustration collective whose work you’d like to see more of on 10and5. This will enter you to win one of the 15 copies. We’ll be picking winners next week some time. Good Luck!
UPDATE: We’ve just been told that local illustrator, Patrick Latimer, is one of the 200 best illustrators worldwide to be featured in the book. Good going! Does anybody know if there are other South African illustrators mentioned?
New: Local illustrator Nicola Meiring is also included in the book. Congrats!
