15 Jun Dulux, Write on Africa & 10and5 Paint Day | 25 June
In short, this ad was created in a response to Vodacom changing their branding to red earlier this year. Dulux and their agency had no idea who did the ad and said it wasn’t them but to celebrate the creativity of the idea they donated 40 litres of paint to an organisation of 10and5’s choice!
We decided to donate the paint to Write on Africa to support their mural-painting community upliftment project in Woodstock. And on Saturday the 25th of June Dulux, Write on Africa and 10and5 are hosting a paint day!
Ricky Lee Gordon from Write on Africa has been fantastic, he is designing two murals to be painted in run down areas of Woodstock and is inviting 30-40 children from the community to help out. The murals will be broken down into paint-by-numbers so everybody can join in.
Dulux has gone beyond their initial promise by also donating 20 litres of white paint to use as a base coat and is donating all the paint brushes. Jive has also joined in by donating 3 cases of 2litre cooldrinks and cups for the kids. THANK YOU JIVE and QUALITY BEVERAGES!
Between 10and5 is sending a few helpers on the day and we’ll also be documenting the whole process. Please feel free to come on down to Woodstock to watch the mural take form. The more the merrier.
We’ll be posting the exact address next week.
