Oliver Whyte was born in South Africa, in a little town called Bethlehem and then later raised in Malawi, also known as the ‘The Warm Heart of Africa’. With little in the form of cinemas and shopping malls, Oliver began using his imagination as a source of entertainment. Sometimes his mind felt bigger than his house, or even the whole town, and when that happened, he knew he had to quickly find a pen and paper.
His imagination became his best friend. Although it wasn’t always an easy friendship he will admit. Sometimes people laughed at his friend and thought that he was a bit silly. But Oliver learnt that just like any good friendship – both friends must be willing to really listen to one other; each must be nurtured and loved, and above all, both must be given the time and space, to run wild and free.
