Shan Fischer is a passionate and meticulous 2D artist in both traditional and digital art. She has some really interesting work experience to her name, have a read:
After completing a Commercial Art Diploma in 2001 and a four-year Visual Arts Degree in 2004, I worked as a Concept Artist for Four Blind Mice focusing on character and environment design for children’s educational games and guided the programmers in turning the concepts into reality. In 2007 and 2008 I was in Japan working as a freelance artist and English teacher. I have been a lead background artist for Clockwork Zoo, on the animated children’s TV show Caillou, for Cookie Jar Entertainment and a texture artist on Florrie’s Dragons for Disney UK. I have freelanced a great deal and am accustomed to dealing with the varied and specific needs of clients. I have also exhibited my work in various galleries around Kwa-Zulu Natal.
I’m passionate about art and creating worlds people can believe in and escape into. I am meticulous and believe that attention to detail is important in order to create convincing images, be those environments or characters.
