News from The Fringe on Kloof:

From July 2011, The Fringe on Kloof will run South Africa’s first no-reason required gift registry. The Cape Town-based shop, owned and run by Chantal Louw and Thessa Bos, features work from a collective of eighty local artists and designers and is known for its wide range of quirky and beautiful locally manufactured handmade goods.

Says Bos: “Time and time again we hear our visitors say that they’re struggling to choose what to buy because the shop carries so much to love and take home. One day, when one such visitor said she would send in all her friends to buy her gifts, we offered to keep a list for her so she could them to us every time a gift occasion would present itself. With that, the idea for our no-reason registry was born.”

Adds Louw with a smile: “While joking around with this client about an appropriate name for the registry, we spoke about how greedy she got from walking around the shop. Moments later, GIMME GIMME GIMME rolled off our tongues.

The registry does not have to be for a wedding, stork party or anything in particular. If you love it, we put it on your list. If someone is stuck for a gift, whisper The Fringe on Kloof in its ear and we will help them get you exactly what you want. Because, let’s be honest, you deserve to have exactly what you want, when you want and as much as you want.

So email us your list, come in and start your list with us or just send pictures from facebook and we will build your list for you.”
