25 Aug STR CRD 2011 – Mzansi’s Most Popular
Street Cred 2011 is an annual street culture showcase event and festival in SA. Last year’s event was held at Cape Town Station and this year is going even bigger in the Maboneng Precinct (MOAD building 281 Commissioner Str) in down town Johannesburg. The Str.Crd festival is a celebration of urban culture and youth interests and this year will have a special heritage slant, as it’s being held over the Heritage long weekend: 20-24 September 2011.
In the month leading up to the festival weekend, Street cred is running blogger wars – CT vs JHB vs PE vs Durbs to find out who is “Mzansi’s Most Popular”. The competition launched yesterday and the four blogging teams, 1 from each city, will be going head to head online to see who can get the most followers and walk away with a cash prize of R45k! Additional exposure on SonyMax, Motribe, Mahala.co.za and 5FM will give the teams a massive boost as the competition takes each city’s scene to a nationwide audience.
The STR CRD team hand-picked the cream of SA’s street blogging talent to expose SA city streets’ real, urban, youth cultures. Each team blogs daily about anything they consider to have street cred. Let’s meet the teams:
