This year’s Loerie Awards will be hosted in Cape Town for the third year in a row which means that next year it’s time to move on. The process has already begun to determine where the Loerie will be in 2012.

Five destinations, selected by the Loeries Board and Committee, have been invited to submit a bid to host The Loerie Awards from 2012 to 2014.

These are: Cape Town – the Mother City (again), KwaZulu-Natal – SA’s Playground, Johannesburg – the City of Gold, Port Elizabeth – Nelson Mandela Bay and Sun City – Africa’s Kingdom of Pleasure.

The Loeries were first held in Johannesburg, then Sun City for many years before moving to Margate in KwaZulu-Natal in 2005, where it spent four years and attendance more than doubled. Since moving to Cape Town in 2009, attendance has reached record levels of 2,500 people per night with up to 5,000 people attending the Festival Weekend.

So, where should the Loeries land next? Get involved by suggesting your ideal venue – Cape Town, KZN, Johannesburg, Sun City or PE – on The Loerie Awards facebook page or on twitter @loeries.

  1. There’s always so much happening in CT, it’ll always be nice going there!

But JHB – in the city could also be awesome!
