Once more the Loeries have come and gone. The exclusive event always gets the city in a buzz with pre-parties, awards ceremonies and sub-parties as the order of the day (or should we say weekend?). 10and5 once more hosted their own Loeries vibe on the Conradie field in Tamboerskloof, and man was it fun!
After setting up the stage area, bar, tables and chairs we awaited the masses. Bacardi and BOS Ice Tea cocktails flowed while the beers, red bulls and ice-cold tequila flew out of our bar area – into the hands of happy party-goers.
Couples lazed on picnic blankets, guys and girls played soccer and threw around frisbees on the grass, creatives scribbled artworks on the brown-paper tables, people blew bubbles and hid from the sun’s rays under brightly-coloured umbrellas. For a few fantastic hours it genuinely felt like summer was here to stay. Most of us enjoyed it all by getting drunk in the sun.
Inside, grumbling stomachs could be quietened by fresh bread and homemade tapas courtesy of Eat Your Heart Out. And out on the field the bands struck up to complete the party vibe.
The Lottery Tickets, Beach Party, LA.VI, Mao and Mills&Grams provided the soundtrack to a seriously summertime day.
We would like to thank everyone who came and enjoyed the sunshine with us!
A special thanks goes out to Jana+Koos for the super cool poster they designed, Eat Your Heart Out for providing some scrumptious eats, Philip from Audiopimps for the great sound, The Lottery Tickets, Beach Party, LA.VI, Mao and Mills&Grams for providing us with sweet tunes and of course everyone who helped set up.
We had such a great time we’re already looking forward to the next one.
