13 Oct Makhulu Polane: Vote
Big Blue have chosen the top 50 entries to the 2011 Makhulu Polane T-shirt design competition. Now, it’s time to get voting! Read on:
With almost 1000 entries in a mere month, Big Blue’s annual Makhulu Polane T-shirt design competition was a massive success, and indicative of the remarkable design talent SA has to offer. T-shirt designs had to pay tribute to the nostalgic theme, “bottom of the school desk”, which made it broad enough to leave it open for interpretation.
Choosing 50 finalists was no mean feat. The judging panel took into account Big Blue’s Proudly South African mission, which salutes the diversity and uniqueness of South Africa. Since it was in fact a T-shirt competition, finalist designs also had to be translated into printed T-shirts.
Now it’s time for some serious voting! Get your other half, friends, family, aunty, uncle, cousins – and anyone else you can grab hold of – to show their support for local design talent. Get voting at www.makhulupolane.com
The Big Blue Makhulu Polane team has extended a hearty, South African “thank you, baie dankie and ngiyabonga” to all aspiring designers who submitted their entries. They acknowledged each and every entrant for taking the time and considerable effort to create so many original and carefully planned submissions. They added if they could have, they would have uploaded all the entries.
Voting will remain open until Sunday night 16th October 12pm.
