In just under two weeks, a high-level delegation, led by Executive Mayor of Cape Town, Patricia de Lille, will be heading to Taipei for the official announcement of the World Design Capital 2014 on the 26th of October. Back home the announcement will be screened live at Field Office – 37 Barrack Street, Cape Town – at around 6am.

The Cape Town Partnership worked tirelessly to create the bid that won us a place as a finalist and now all thumbs are being held and fingers being crossed for Cape Town to win over Dublin and Bilbao. Should Cape Town win, the city will run a year-long programme of design-focused events that will see creative communities from across the globe visiting and networking with Cape Town, for social, economic and cultural solutions.
