Graduate Series: Erica Sauzier

3rd Year, Erica Sauzier

Erica Sauzier graduated from Design Academy of Fashion this year and received the Academic Achievement award for receiving the highest marks over the three year diploma, achieving distinctions in all her subjects.

She explains her charming graduate range, “My autumn/winter range is inspired by nostalgia of the 1970’s and quirky children everywhere who want to live in a world filled with tree house adventures.  This is the reason for naming the range “Treehouse Menagerie”.  I wanted it to be in line with eco-conscious behaviour and so I used only 100% natural fabrics while the detailing, silhouettes and accessories hold onto the heirloom feel of 1970’s childrenswear. The range items are all inter-changeable and adjustable so as to offer a kid-friendly range.”

When asked what she loves about her chosen field, Erica responded with, “What I love about the fashion industry is that it is so vibrant and forever changing.  This fast paced nature of the industry is what gives it such character.” Her hopes for next year include gaining a better understanding of the retail environment to assist her in introducing her own eco-friendly childrenswear label.

All the best, Erica!
