Tokyo-Go-Go

Greg Darroll aka Tokyo-Go-Go’s urge to pursue a career as an illustrator started at a young age when he’d tirelessly re-draw old Disney characters and fill his school desk/books with doodles.

As could’ve been foreseen, he enrolled at The Durban University of Technology after school where he spent the next four years developing his illustration and design abilities. Specialized in illustration and with a Loerie Award in the bag, Greg started his first design job at the acclaimed Disturbance studio after college.

Greg’s own project the ‘Tokyo-Go-Go Illustration Studio’ kicked off early this year and combines his studio skills with his free-time freelance experience. Greg is also one of RVCA’s South African ANP Artists and is represented in Europe by David Chien’s Zulus Can Draw’ .

Over the rest of the year he’ll be having his second solo exhibition as well as hosting a group show and developing a series of Tokyo-Go-Go products & toys. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
