Torné Leigh Velk is a promising young photographer with an already substantial body of work. The Cape Town matric student uses her spare time to do test shoots for local modelling agencies.
Torné says she first got into photography when she was just 13 taking fun photos of friends on a white wall with her brother’s camera. Five years later she has a budding career and plans to travel, shoot for high-profile agencies and models and get world wide recognition.
She says, “I enjoy raw fashion photography where a model’s natural beauty is shown. Photography is my passion and I love the whole final outcome.” Torné names photographers David Sessions and Chris Heads as inspirations who have helped her develop as a photographer.
