Future Face by Sean Metelerkamp

This series is the latest from Sean Metelerkamp but also includes some of the first photos he shot. Future Face took over five years, on and off, to complete being photographed in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012 at Monte Rosa old age home in Cape Town.

Well known for his conceptual portraits of South African musicians and most famously his work with Die Antwoord, Sean’s updated website shows a different direction for his photography. His ongoing series Skeef Reënboog, shot on borrowed and disposable film cameras, is another to take note of.

Old-age homes are the most depressing places. These pictures broke my heart. Thanks.

  2. being a terminal braincancer survivor, this message and art is very moving. its message is powerful. dont waste a moment of life. its a gift given to be lived and enjoyed right now, things happen to everyone but, your perception an inner belief dictate your thoughts about what happens and how you imagine and think. these imaginings and thoughts are your tommorows and will dictate the direction and condition of your body and its health. dont sweat the small things. the big picture is your body is perfectly designed tolast a 100 years unless your belief and judgemnts get in the way.treat and aknowledge each soul along the journey. they too are special and also living a life.
