Standard Bank ‘Moving Forward’ TVC

Flighted for the first time yesterday, this Standard Bank TV commercial by TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris presents visuals of key moments in world history set to the upbeat 1950’s hit “Sh’boom” by The Crew Cuts. The ad’s aim is to demonstrate progress and the positive emotion people feel when they move forward.

The 60 second ad follows a series of global events – from the first flight in the early 1900’s to the first democratic elections in South Africa. They were chosen for being moments of significant social change or advances in technology. Original historic film has been merged with newly-captured footage to create the visual story of progress.

The commercial coincides with Standard Bank’s 150th anniversary.
