Graduate Series: Natasha Prinsloo

Natasha Prinsloo

Natasha Prinsloo was born in Pretoria, grew up on a farm near Hartbeespoortdam and is currently in her fourth and final year as a Graphic Design student at North-West University in Potchefstroom. Her budding design career has already seen some major highlights. Natasha is the overall Pendoring 2012 student winner with a gold for Blink Stefanus, Zef ride accessories, as well as an integrated campaign gold for a group project for Vrede foundation, “Selfliefde”.

She also passed the ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers) Student Assessment of 2012 with The Waitress from Jack Zipes’ “Tales to change the world”.

On her process, Natasha says, “I find inspiration by referencing objects related to the chosen concept, from there on I start filling paper with doodles, scanning them in and vectoring away. I love character design and the challenge of making print media fun.” Which she certainly does with her fearless, rule-breaking layouts and typography, sense of humour and eccentric characters.
